Despite the record breaking cold and snow, Shelter Island Town Supervisor Jim Dougherty was sworn into office for his fourth term by Town Justice Mary Faith Westervelt on Friday, January 3rd.

Although he hasn’t caught up with the New York State record of 13 terms, Dougherty has pledged to continue maintaining economic stability for Shelter Island taxpayers and will continue to serve for as long as the voters affirm their confidence in his leadership.
