Long Island #KnockEveryDoor March 11th

Date:
Saturday, March 11, 2017 - 12:30pm to 4:30pm
Long Island Action

canvassing event on Saturday, March 11th with #knockeverydoor to talk to voters in Long Island, specifically the communities of Stewart Manor, Floral Park, New Hyde Park, Garden City and more.

As the name suggests, we will go door-to-door talking to our neighbors in Long Island about the results of the election. We can't wait until the next election to start organizing in our community - we need to go door-to-door now! We'll start with a training and end with a debrief of our experience knocking on doors and talking to voters. We welcome first time canvassers!

Our goal is to start to build back support among those voters who flipped Obama-Trump. More importantly, our goal is to ask fellow liberals and progressives to join the fight with us in creating an anti-Trump coalition in our community. Volunteer information will be shared with groups looking for support in upcoming local electoral races. We are building support for the resistance while focusing on 2017 and 2018!

We'll meet at my home at 6 Elton Road N at 12:30. I am a 2-minute walk from the Long Island Railroad Stewart Manor stop, just a 40-minute ride from Atlantic Terminal and Penn Station!

Dress for the weather, wear your walking shoes, and bring water. I'll provide pizza! We're going to have a lot of fun, get to know each other and our neighbors, and start to do the work that can help us defeat Trump.

#Knockeverydoor is a new, non-partisan canvassing experiment created by some former Bernie Sanders staffers — since the inauguration. We're going out and to try to knock every door in America and really listen to ALL Americans' thoughts about the election and issues that are important to them, opening a dialogue about politics and bridging the divide that's split America down the middle in the past year.
